MAC DONATION TO COMMUNITY WORK IN TAMENGLONG, Rs 33000/- for construction of Tamenglong-Haflong Road, January 2013
During 2012 and 2013, a community action group in Tamenglong District Manipur launched a community work to construct a 100 km Tamenglong to Haflong (a town in Assam) Road by raising donated fund. The community action stood out as exemplary for the people living in remote difficult areas in Manipur where government programs alone cannot cater to the local needs. This action was led by one young IAS officer named Armstrong Pame who hails from the region. In appreciation of this inspiring work, MAC donated a sum of Rs 33000/- to the Action Group in January 2013. MAC went further to felicitate the Action Group for its extraordinary achievement at the MAC Reception Function at Hotel Classic, Imphal on February 16, 2013 attended by Principal Secretary, L.P. Gonmei, Senior IAS who also hails from Tamenglong District, Manipur.
